Subject: 64 Bit IIS 6.0 32 bit Domino 8.0.1 Configuration
Feedback Type: Problem
Product Area: Domino Server
Technical Area: Install
Platform: Windows 2003 server
Release: 8.0.1
Reproducible: Unknown

I am looking for advice from someone with experience configuring 64 Windows Server 2003 for IIS 6 and Domino. I think I am doing things right but have a hang up at the end. I am working with IBM support, but wanted to cast a wider net at this point and would appreciate your help.

I have read and learned a little from all the IIS Domino posts on the R8 and R6/R7 Forums.

I am working on completing IIS 6.0 to Domino 8.0.1 integration on a 64 bit Windows 2003 server. Before configuring IIS to use the plugin, I tested that I could reach the IIS default iisstart.htm page on port 80 and that I could sign onto Domino on port 1080 with my Internet password.

After getting the most up-to-date websphere plugin for Windows 64 bit here <http://www-1.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?rs=180&uid=swg24019101> and configuring IIS for Domino and the plugin here
Set up Domino:
http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/domhelp/v8r0/index.jsp?topic=/com.ibm.help.domino.admin.doc/DOC/H_SETTING_UP_DOMINO_FOR_MICROSOFT_IIS_5182_STEPS.html

Configure Plugin:
http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/domhelp/v8r0/topic/com.ibm.help.domino.admin.doc/DOC/H_TO_CONFIGURE_THE_IIS_PLUG-IN_STEPS.html

I get "Service Unavailable" in the browser when trying to access iisstart.htm and this message in related Windows Events: "ISAPI Filter 'C:\WebSphere\Appserver\bin\iisWASPlugin_http.dll' could not be loaded due to a configuration problem. The current configuration only supports loading images built for a AMD64 processor architecture. The data field contains the error number. To learn more about this issue, including how to troubleshooting this kind of processor architecture mismatch error, see http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=29349."

[Note that the link built into the Microsoft help error message does not work.]

Despite my best attempts, it appears the plugin in the 64 bit download package must be a 32 bit dll. Either that, there is something else happening that I don't understand.

Does anyone have experience with these instructions who could tell me whether this would help, and advice applying them to the plugin, instead of ASP.NET as detailed here? These instructions describe how to get ASP.NET to run as a 32 bit app with IIS. <http://support.microsoft.com/kb/894435/en-us>

I know this is a very specific question and will probably go unanswered, but I thought I would give it a try. I tried to show with this level of detail that I have done my homework and have read other posts on the topic.

Thanks in advance.
